I've now been motoring for 25 hours, we go a little slower than
anticipated as the following wind has dropped. I have been very good so
far at relegating to the back of my mind the thought that the fuel might
not be enough, according to my calculations i have enough to get there,
but if dont it wont be fun at all, i have run the engine for 33 hours
since fuelling, i believe i have a range of 48 hours so you can see at
80 miles to go it's borderline. I'd really hate to have to call out a
boat just for the last stretch.
On the other hand, one thing that i run out of is DVDs to watch. I
slept, i ate, i read, but when motoring with the constant drone of the
engine it's nice to have something talking to you but i figure this is
the last of the problems.
Otherwise, all well, no traffic at all, one ship in 24 hours, i called
them to check the AIS, it works with a reduced range of about 6 miles
but that's ok, at least i know what works what not in an emergency like
this, not that i plan on a repeat, but you know, for when i'll tell you
the story in the pub.
The weather has been fine all day, sunny, pretty clouds, nice gentle
wind... it could be a lot worse.
Ciao,
Marco
