Despite the best efforts of man, the common rope tangling pixie remains the
dominant species in the North Atlantic. Skippers are carefully advised to
coil all rope ends and use halyard bags where available to avoid
antagonising them, however as each skipper knows once he or she goes down
below to make a cuppa or perhaps take a nap, the evil giggling of the rope
tangling pixie can often be heard back on deck. Most usually active by
night, the common rope tangling pixie remains to date unphotographed.
Perhaps this years OSTAR will yield an image of the marine equivalent of the
Yeti?
