Today has been a day of slight disappointment. Although we continue to make good boat speed towards Newport, we are currently experiencing the full force of the Gulf Stream going North East. I was expecting when we cleared the ice area for the wind to be approximately South West taking us towards Nova Scotia and the Labrador current so we would not end up having this problem. However, that was not to be and we are now hoping to make progress across the current to more favourable conditions. We hope this will not prevent Banjaard and I from meeting our 25 day target which is now looking much closer than it was this morning.
