the 3 days wall has hit me

It seems like it will always be three days to the finish of this race. Yesterday it was three days, today it was three days, and the law of probability suggests tomorrow it might be three days. But still, things on board bluQube remain very interesting. Today has been weather day! So far we’ve had no wind, about 20 knots of wind, we’ve had incredibly thick fog, we’ve had rain of various intensities and the piece de resistance was an almighty thunder storm with fork lightening exploding into the water around us. Pretty intense stuff!

I’m running out of the nice chocolate onboard, my ‘Time Out’ supply has dwindled to the bare minimum, and this has further encouraged the speed management of the boat in the run up to the finish. Although I wonder why I bother because we’ve hit the three day wall.

I’m desperately trying to keep the boat speed at about 6 knots, as it will have us arriving on Sunday evening. Although I’m very worried that I’m going to arrive after the customs office has closed. Which will keep me onboard bluQube for another night and keep me out of a restaurant in the States. Still we all know the Americans are good at take away pizza!

So I guess we’re plodding on towards the finish and trying to make best speed and keep trying to sneak in front of some of the guys to the north of us. Newport will very soon will be full of OSTAR finishers and hopefully bluQube will be one sooner rather than later.

I’m about go and tack so will give everyone an update on the rudder damage later on today.

Lots of hug and kisses Katie xx

Dude... it's incredible what

Dude... it's incredible what you have done over the last 3 weeks. In the time you've sailed.... what... 2000miles approx, i've written 5000 words. That is very depressive for me, but what an amazing achievement for you: Thats like 2.5 words written per mile you've sailed (just to put it in perspective). Not matter what the result, you should be proud of yourself. Keep going... not that far to go. You will finally break that 3 day wall and then you can have as much pizza as you want. :0)

proud of you, Katie. Some
