Lots of wind last night and now none again. Nothing worse than honking up the mainsail and changing the jib knowing that it has all got to come back down again in a matter of hours.
The gale coming through will be the biggest yet and pretty pivotal for bluQube and me. Hoping that we are better placed to make some advantageous changes on the leader board, but we will have to wait and play it by the conditions. Can't really worry about anyone else at the moment.
Food is getting ever better. Chilli con carne and pitta breads today. Have had strange craving for strawberry Yazoo milkshakes, which means I have severely depleted supply and may have to go with banana and chocolate for the rest of the journey.... But I want strawberry!!
I find myself daydreaming in all my spare minutes about food (no change there then). I have ordered supply of bachelors super noodles (chicken) from the ma, since have craved theses also since about day 5. Ridiculous, because I could have brought them with me!
Dolphin count increased again today. Haven't seen any whales yet, though I am sure they have seen me. Shame - I can speak whale.
Spent some time on the helm last night, as do quite enjoy it. Night seemed quite bright due to large berocca like moon in the sky.
Will be serverly lashing down and reducing canvas for this next blow. Sneaking suspicion that might be slightly more comfortable, and likely just as fast, with reef in solent and second reef in main. Limit is knowing how far to push it without being uncompetitive. However, it is need for Pizza, melted cheese, steak, salty chips (fries) sparking water, noodles and ice that are making me want to push it. Almost less than a 1000 miles! MASSIVE milestone! Might be upon us in tomorrows positions reports. Lets hope so.
