There are few words to explain what unbelievable pain it the back it was to fit a simple gps repeater in the cockpit, the unit has a cable with three wires, simple. I had to make a new 'dashboard' for the instruments outside, which is child play with a jigsaw but when it came to feed the cable to reach the control panel the task became apparent.
The wire had to run under the coach roof above the sliding hatch and inside i had to remove almost all head lining then through patient use of an electrician wire tape the laborious job of getting the cable through the most unbelievable 90 degrees bends in the most unaccessible parts of the boat began.
It took me the best part of a day.
Now i have my new dashboard, painted Ferrrari red for speed, in order of appearance i have my auto pilot remote holder, depth, gps, wind and log. I'm lagging behind on my job list but i'll get working now, this is the last long weekend to get anything done, next i come out of the water for antifouling then it'll be about time to go somewhere new, like America.
