I'm flying the assymeytric with the tack poled out in an intricate
tangle of ropes to be able to go deeper than the 110 degrees max
apparent this flat sail was designed for. At least it is bigger than the
poled out genoa. But i'm going so slow it is simply depressing.

The spinnaker is in shreds, unrepairable.

6-7 knots true dead run.

For the next 24h.

Recipe for disaster.

Currently my nav software tells me it will take me 5 days to do a
stretch that is less than the average day i had during the race. I'm
simply trying to block all thoughts, I lost more ground to my followers,
I kept FanFan behind till 0400UT, than in just 4 hours he took 9
miles flying his big masthead kite... Jager who once was so far away i
had forgotten about him is now showing at just 40 miles, i had 130 on
him just days ago, with a kite he will easily pass me... Tamarind has
closed in a little further...

It seems it is just not meant to be... In an upwind race with an upwind
boat we have been going off the wind for the past 5 days, my worst
possible point of sail, especially in light winds.
