Today has been another day of averages, average sunshine and average
wind, its amazing how much progress can be made with average wind force
instead of extremes. Its been very enjoyable, but there is a patch of
calm on its way and I do not think I can avoid it. Maybe there will be
a little more wind than predicted, rather than a little less as has
happened with every other calm patch I have encountered.
As the galley food cupboard only had the items I have not eaten in the
past 24 days, I decide it was time to restock from the forward locker.
What an Aladdin's cave I found. I had packed the food into weekly
packs of meals, snacks, biscuits, etc. to even out the usage and keep
goodies for all the weeks of the trip right up to the end. Well I have
not been eating as many sweeties or treats as planned so I have found
plenty of choice that I had forgotten was stores there. More fig rolls
and kitkats and still three fruit cakes to go. With less than a week to
go I can be extravagant with my consumption. On the other hand I could
save some things for the return trip !!
