Peter Bourke is getting ready for his first OSTAR and unlike every european skipper, he will be on his way home as soon as he crosses the start line. Peter is American and entered the race on Rubicon, an Outbound 45 which he has already sailed out of Newport in the Bermuda 1-2 with excellent class results in the 2 handed leg.
It takes a lot of committment to enter and OSTAR as a european, the logistics of bringing the boat back after the race are often complicated but sailing 3,000 miles just to be on the start line of this race is a sure sign that Peter means business.
