Can you imagine a place more suitable for a depressed sailor than a place that hosts bars with names like ATLANTIC and MERAID to overcome his bad mood? Welcome to St. Mary

You fellow sailors may have your salty soup on your way to Newport.- I`v got my MERMAID

Luckily I`m not stranded on a derserted island - but still - to tell you the truth: I`d rather be out there sailing westward into the rising moon…

Tomorrow I will set sails for Lorient

It was good to meet you and Sandra in Plymouth during the week before the race.
I am so sorry 2009 ostar ended so quickly for you, roll on 2013.
St Marys's is a lovely place, small compensation I know. Have a safe sail home and regards to Sandra.

Thank you Marty and Jean, you are sooooo nice...you always find kind, comforting words for everybody involved in the race (including me)
I´m also veryvery sad for you Reini, I know what it meant to you to be on that start line. I was never as nervous as I was when I saw you disappear on the horizon, I just couldn´t turn my eyes off the always smaller getting boat.....I hope you console yourself with the thought that there will be another ostar. At least we have a very good reason to see all our new friends from the royal western yachtclub again! Until then we have to find out where to get extra lightweight evening-clothing for the nice parties. (Anything with weight is strictly forbidden on the tri!) Big hug, Sandra

Sandra and Reini, It's good to hear the rig is saved and repairs allow you to return to Lorient. Hope to meet you cruising somewhere b4 the next race!!
I'm returning to Nautec later this month for some family cruising in Croatia. David.
