The IRC result is calculated by multiplying the time the boat takes to get to Newport by a factor that should reflect the performance characteristics of the boat so that, the theory goes, every boat races on equal terms for the overall prize.

In our previous poll we asked who would be the outright favourite to cross the finish line in newport, now we take a look at the smaller boats where the competition is set to be really hot in this edition of the OSTAR with some top boats and top skippers on the start line.
